About Our Print Technology
Flock Print
Print Technology: For flock print, a computerised blade is used to slice designs out of a soft, velvety material. Using high pressure and temperatures, this design is then pressed onto the fabric. This print technique is suitable for nearly all fabric types and with its velvet touch, looks and feels great. Flock-printed colours remain bright and bold despite regular washing at up to 40°C. As with all printed fabrics, please wash and iron inside-out.
Digital Print
Digital transfer is a well-known print technique often used in copy shops, photo shops and other commercial fabric-printing. In this process, an orignial is created using a colour laser printer, then with the help of a transfer-film and high temperatures, the design is gently melted onto the fabric. This print type is especially suitable for multi-coloured designs or designs with a varying colour tone. The disadvantage is that only white or pale gray fabric can be used.
The wash temperature for any digital transfer should be no higher than 30°C and all products should be washed and ironed inside-out. Spreadshirt uses the highest quality, state-of-the-art transfer films, yet the wash quality is constantly in the improvement process. We generally accept that digitally transfered colours fade with time, especially in black areas, but ironing inside out over the design has been proven to refresh colours.
Flex Print
Print Technology: With flex printing, a large computerised blade is used to cut designs out of a smooth, thin material. This design is then pressed onto the fabric, using high pressure and temperatures. This print type is suitable for almost all fabric types and due to its sleek and shiny surface, looks and feels amazing.
Nylon flex retains its colours long throughout a life of regular washing at 40°C. As with all printed fabrics, please wash and iron inside-out.
Special Flex Print
As above but special flex printing foils can be used for single-coloured designs only.
Writeable Flex Print
Print Technology: With flex printing, a large computerised blade is used to cut designs out of a smooth, thin material. This design is then pressed onto the fabric, using high pressure and temperatures. This print type is suitable for almost all fabric types and due to its sleek and shiny surface, looks and feels amazing.
Designs for writable flex come with a Crayola Wipeoff marker (delivered colour may vary). With the marker you can easily write messages on designs: apply, let it dry for 10 minutes, done. The marker colour is best erased with a wet towel, however, we recommend washing your apparel in a washing machine in order to remove the colour completely and thoroughly.
Writeable flex (the foil, not the marker colour) retains its colours long throughout a life of regular washing at 40°C. As with all printed fabrics, please wash and iron inside-out.
